ELSHINGEETY · OWNER SETUP

Set up your sender domain.

A branded sender for enquiry, booking and cancellation alerts. Verification happens in your authorised Lovable project, not on this public page.

Email setup is not yet complete. This guide does not connect a domain or activate alerts; the current status and exact records are shown in Lovable Cloud → Emails.

1. Start with the setup button

In the Lovable conversation, click Set up email domain. Use a real domain you own; your Gmail address and the website’s lovable.app address are not sender domains you can verify.

If the button is no longer visible, open this project, then choose Cloud → Emails to start or resume email setup. Only authorised project members can make changes.

Open Lovable project

No domain yet? Buy one through Project Settings → Domains → Buy new domain (paid plans), or through a domain registrar.

2. Choose a sender subdomain

Follow the setup dialog to select your owned domain and a sender subdomain. For example, notify.yourdomain.com is an example only, not a configured domain. Your existing Gmail inbox can still receive the alerts.

A website domain connection and an email sender verification are separate tasks. Connecting your website alone does not enable email alerts.

3. Add the records shown for your domain

Open Cloud → Emails → Manage Domains. Copy the exact nameserver (NS) record names and values displayed for your sender subdomain into your domain’s DNS provider. Do not guess values or use website A records for this step.

Delegate only the selected sender subdomain, not your entire domain. Lovable manages its mail verification records after delegation. Leave your main website and existing mailbox records unchanged.

My provider cannot add NS records

Shopify-managed DNS does not support this record type. Either transfer your domain into Lovable through Workspace settings → Workspace domains, or move DNS hosting to a provider that supports subdomain NS records, such as Cloudflare. Moving DNS hosting does not require changing your registrar; preserve all existing website and mail records.

I already use another email service

Use a separate sender subdomain. A subdomain delegated to Lovable cannot also be verified by another email service. Do not remove existing email records unless you intend to stop using that service.

4. Verify and wait for activation

Return to Cloud → Emails and click Verify Domain. DNS changes can take up to 72 hours. “Awaiting DNS” or provisioning means setup is still in progress; email cannot send yet.

If setup fails, compare the records with your DNS provider and use Retry setup. If your provider cannot add NS records, use one of the alternatives above rather than repeating retries.

5. Connect the consultation alerts

Once the domain appears in Cloud → Emails, return to the Lovable conversation and say “My sender domain is configured; connect my consultation alerts.” Alert preparation can start while verification finishes; actual sending requires an active domain.

The requested alerts will include the contact and business details, consultation reference, selected package, booking date and time when applicable, and a direct link to the private owner inbox. Cancellation alerts must follow a recorded cancellation, not merely a client asking to cancel by email.

Clients currently request changes or cancellations personally by email. No self-service cancellation is implied.

6. Check a real booking and cancellation

After alerts are connected and your sender domain is active, submit a test booking with your own details. Confirm it is saved, then check your inbox and spam folder. Follow the dashboard link and sign in with your approved owner account.

Record a test cancellation through the agreed owner workflow and check its separate alert. Review sending outcomes in Cloud → Emails. A saved consultation or an accepted send does not prove the message reached your inbox.

This page does not show live domain status or save DNS credentials. Never share passwords or secret keys in a consultation form.
